Vintage adverts- some of them like the picture above are so pretty and so beautiful in colouring that they deserve to be framed and be used by interior decorators to put onto wall s of wonderful residences....Many of the colours used by the advertisers are very typical and evocative of each era that they originate from- the one above for instance is very typical of that early 1930s 'colonial' expatriate upper class lifestyle- life abroad in a warm climate with very little to care about or worry in the world.....the colours used and the way the people are portrayed gives a lovely period effect.
We offer 3 types of vintage adverts- firstly we offer the original ones as above which have been carefully removed from a very old magazine. We send them as is, carefully flat packed into a clear cello bag and sent by post in a board backed envelope. These are wonderful for interior decoration or to give as gift for collectors- you can matte and frame them and hang them on the wall, or use as interesting insertions for scrapbooks or art/memory journals. You can find our current selection here but please do realise that we only ever have one each of these, and so when they are gone, they have gone!
We do though offer 2 other alternatives- one is a downloadable jpeg file- you can use these to print out for personal use as prints or they are fun in scrapbooking- you can find our selection here and that will grow as time goes on and we keep adding to that part of the website.... the great thing about jpegs is that you can access them almost immediately and get started on your project! Plus, there is no postage costs on the downloads (which is why our downloadable craft patterns and ebooks are very popular), which for those of you outside the UK means a saving of at least £3.80.......
Very soon we will also be offering reprints of some very old adverts for you to use and frame too- we will let you know when they get onto the site- in the meantime enjoy browsing and have a trip down memory lane looking at the old food, drinks and items that use to be on sale and how they were promoted....Enjoy!
