These little milk jug or sugar bowl covers are so sweet and looked so pretty on traditional tea tables in the Victorican and Edwardian eras.
They also perform a function in that they stop little insects such as flies and wasps
contaminating the contents of the bowls and jugs.
They are made with very fine cotton and a piece of muslin in the centre- you can use cotton, net or damask in the centre too. You could also add bead to the ends of the droplets to add a little weight to keep the cover down in light (or heavy) breezes if you are having your traditional tea on the lawn outside.
