How to crochet rugs, 1940s pattern
This is a vintage crochet pattern for 3 rugs which dates from the wartime 1940s when everything was in short supply and housewives had to make do, mend and be creative in how they decorated their homes.
There are 3 lovely period designs- a striped rug, one made from hexagons and an oval rug. All are really good for using left overs yarns and odds and ends of yarns, which would have a lovely vintage 1940s period feel, although of course you could make them for modern interiors and buy specific colour yarns to match interior decors. They could look rather gorgeous in creams and whites......
The instructions were originally in UK crochet terms but we have added a translation to USA crochet terms for our USA users too.
