Vintage 1900s Irish Crochet Evening or Wedding Shoe Pattern

This is such a beautiful pattern and would make wonderful wedding shoes, especially if you add beads and crystals to make it sparkle like a cinderella shoe! It dates from the very early 1900s Art Nouveau era and would have been for covering evening shoes. We have marked it for experts as it can be adapted to any shoe or ankle boot shape really ( what pretty ankle boots they would be!) but you will need to be experienced in irish crochet filling to be able to do this.
Each of the pretty motifs canals be used on their own as pins brooches or corsages -try making them in modern thicker yarns for a bigger effect for this. They could still be white or cream or you could make them in brighter colours too.The instructions were originally in UK crochet terms but we have added a translation to USA crochet terms for our USA users too.
